MUSIC TEACHER

Alexander began teaching music from the age of 19, right after entering the Institute of Arts, at the same time as he was studying in the class of Professor A. Shisman. After completing his postgraduate studies, from 2001 to 2010 he worked at the Orenburg State Institute of Arts and the College of Music, since 2003 as an assistant professor. He taught such courses as Violin playing, Theory and methodology of violin (viola) playing, Special technical skills, History of Violin Performing Arts.

Many of his students became prize-winners and diploma winners of Russian and international competitions.

- Teaching for me has always been much more than just mechanical “coaching” of violin playing technology. Every student, even the youngest one, is first of all a person, a musician. And I always tried to treat my students as junior colleagues, not “teaching” them something, but helping them to understand better such an all-encompassing world as music is.

From 2013 to 2017, Alexander worked at Pre-College at Long Island Conservatory.

  • AD – 2014 Long Island Conservatory, NY, USA (conducting)

  • PhD in Music History – 2011, Magnitogorsk State Conservatory, Russia (Dissertation: “Solo and Tutti in Western-European Violin Concertos”, 2011, Magnitogorsk, Russia)
